Maybe I’m just getting old, but they don’t make computer games like they used to. I would gladly give up the meditative scenery of the Myst generation to go back to the snarky villains of Spacequest. And it looks like I’m not alone. After perusing the Wikipedia entry for this classic masterpiece, starring Roger Wilco, the intrepid janitor, it seems that there have been numerous revival projects, both official and unofficial, as recent as 2006 that just never seem to make it. It’s almost there, almost to the tipping point. If only there was a petition widget that wouldn’t violate the Spam laws….

While you’re waiting for the revival, you can replay the original online at http://www.joystiq.com/2009/04/22/play-classic-sierra-adventures-for-free-with-multiplayer/ – the pixels have gotten larger, but no closer together!
