<p>Have you ever wondered what the aliens that make the crop circles do during the winter when there is blowing snow and no crops to disturb? I&#8217;m assuming you prefer the alien theory over drunken villagers but either will do as crop circles are most definitely seasonal.</p>
<p>Apparently they (who ever they are) roll <a href="http://www.digitalspy.com/odd/news/a195183/self-rolling-giant-snowballs-form-in-uk.html">giant snow balls</a> which sounds almost as much fun although not quite as decorative, but give them time.  I won&#8217;t be that surprised if they start showing up in artistic patterns.  Although <a href="http://www.telegraph.co.uk/topics/weather/6950788/Snow-stories-rare-self-rolling-snow-balls-found-in-UK.html">this article</a> is quite dismissive of the crop circle connection you can see a picture and decide for yourself whether this is a freak of nature or the work of really bored extraterrestrials.  I&#8217;m particularly fond of the statement &#8216;world&#8217;s most remote and frozen regions&#8217; which apparently means the American mid-west.</p>
