40 years ago today CCR’s Bad Moon Rising was number 1 on the UK charts – and already people were getting the lyrics wrong.  A continuous favorite on the top 100 list of misheard lyrics it should be pointed out that most people will continue to sing their version even after they find out (and acknowledge) that they are wrong.  Especially my father, who liked to sing this one in particular to the bagpipe version of Bad Moon Rising and I have only myself to blame since I was the one that sent him the tape…  So celebrate your favorite unauthorized lyrics – the more off, the better.
